Vinyl flooring is a great choice for lots of reasons...

It's slip and fire resistant, it holds up to foot traffic well, and vinyl can be styled in lots of different ways.

For the price, LVT feels soft and flexible underfoot, and it installs fast after your subfloor has been prepped. All good things.

But it has drawbacks. Vinyl tile comes from the factory with protective coatings that can get worn off over time. The more foot traffic, sand, and dirt, the faster the protective coating wears out.

When that happens, LVT/LVP floors can lose their sheen and aesthetic appeal or even the original pattern. You can scratch it, so be careful when moving furniture!

One approach to restore the original appearance is to use strong cleaners. It rarely works, if ever. It usually ruins the floor.

Never use ammonia-based cleaners, bleach, acetone, lacquer thinner, oil-based soaps, or waxes to clean your LVP/LVT floor. It will ruin it your or at the very least create a big cleaning or repair challenge.

LVT requires lots of scrubbing to get the small grooves and imperfections clean, making it that much harder to clean properly.

And who really wants to scrub LVT on their hands and knees?

The best thing to do get your LVT floor clean is hire SafeTech. We'll bring counter-rotating brushes, squeegee extractors, and commercial dryers.

We can also renew your LVT's protective coating once your floor is dry. The product is ready in about an hour and is very low-VOC (won't stink up your house or harm your health while it dries).

You can keep your LVT clean by breaking out the vaccum and mop regularly. And scrub when you have to.

If you get tired halfway through, and you live near Ocean Shores, WA, give us a call and we'll take of it, no problem.
